Abstract
PICAMOTICS aim is to explore the possibilities of interacting with a surrounding space simply by presence and movement. The space continually collects information about its visitors and interprets them - at the same time any behaviour changes the acquired data. The result is an individual feedback situation between the space and each visitor - an intense reactive environment.
PICAMOTICS was primarily developed for navigation through public spaces - for example museums, commented physical exhibits, extended interaction among visitors and the access of scientific and cultural content by individual movement. The allocation of personalized information is a principal aspect. The resulting “individually reactive space” knows its visitors. Tracking their positions it can follow movements and draw conclusions from individual behaviours.
